Kurt had to go to work for a few hours, so he left about 9:00 am and we carried on with our morning. We did brunch with my family and Kurt's family at 10am. It was a great spread set out by my mom. Since Kurt was not due back until about 11:30, we set up all the tables for Christmas dinner later that afternoon. We had 26 people coming for dinner, so there was a bit of prep needed.
Here is what the tables looked like (I was SO pleased) I used a few new ideas that I grabbed from Pinterest.
Once the tables were set and Kurt was home, we went over to my parents side and opened gifts with my side of the family.
My parents bought each of the kids a pair of TOMS shoes for Christmas. This was something they all wanted but something that we were prepared to spend the money on as parents; it was a wonderful gift for each of the kids. Even better since they knew that with the purchase of their pair a child in a third world country received a pair as well.
I love the look on Kaitlyn's face
Here are all their shoes...
Here are a few more pictures from the rest of our morning together:
Every year after Christmas dinner, we sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. This year I made cute little Jesus cookies, instead of cupcakes or a cake. In the end, if you can believe it, time got away on us and we totally forgot about them...booo....so Paige and I celebrated Boxing Day with a song and the eating of the cookies.
It was a wonderful day. It was so great to have both our families together for dinner and the evening. The memories will be treasured for many years to come!

When you buy a pair of shoes fromOnitsuka Tiger Shoes, another pair is donated to needy children in different parts of the world. The lack of Tiger Shoes can contribute to the spread of disease and the prevention of educational opportunities, and the company aims to reduce those problems with its mission. You can find comfortable slip-ons or even lace-up boots. The classic true religion
style is a functional, slip-on canvas loafer.
