I can hardly believe it is even possible to have a 7 year old! But we do and we celebrated 7 in style.
A few days before Paige's actual birthday, we had all her girls over for a party. It started out small but the number continually kept growing to a whopping 16! Do you know how many years that can take off your life??? 16 screeching girls in a small space for 90 minutes??? EEEEEKKKK!
At any rate, the theme of the party was "Sweet Shoppe". We had an Ice-cream Parlor where each of the girls made their own ice-cream sundae, as well as a sweet shoppe where they filled take home containers with sweet treats to take home. I ended up sending each of the girls home with their "ice-cream cone" cupcake so as not to overload them with sugar and send them our for the night...
At the party we played a few games, did a craft and opened gifts. By the time we got through all that it was time for the girls to be picked up. Paige had two of her friends sleep over that night for some added excitement.
The next morning, we did a family brunch for Paige. Our family and a couple of our close friends joined us for this celebration. We continued the "Sweet Shoppe" theme with a hot chocolate bar (that I did not get a photo of) and each of the kids filled bags with sweet treats for take home.
Along with my parents, we got Paige as DS for her birthday. She had wanted one for a very long time and we managed to hit a GREAT black Friday sale and scored her one.
If that was no enough festivities, on her actual birthday, as a continued tradition, I signed her out of school at lunch time (Karter too at Paige's request) and we went to see a movie. This years feature was Happy Feet 2. After the movie, we took Paige to various places to spend her gift cards from her birthday. It was a fun little shopping Spree for her. We then met my parents for dinner at Montana's and celebrated with her there.
Miss P, may 7 be a year of great things for you. May you be as inquisitive as ever and may the Lord show you even more glimpses into who you are in Him and who He wants you to be as you grow. We love you!
