Surgery

I just thought I would mention that Karter is going in for neurosurgery today at 12:45 pm. You can find all the info on his blog, as well as updates throughout today and this weekend.

We covet your prayers in this time.

Moving...

It has been a whirlwind of a week. My head is still spinning and I am in total awe of God's hand in all of it!

I mentioned last week that we put our house up on the market. We were praying for a quick sale and that is what we got. The sign went up on Thursday and we had a showing Saturday, two on Sunday and one Tuesday night. This was all before the house ever hit MLS. By Tuesday night an offer came in for our full asking price. Amazing! But the story does not end there.

Our plan was never to put our house on the market. We had friends put in an offer to buy our house when we put the offer in on our new place. The only subject was the sale of their home. Because our accepted offer on our new place has subjects that had to be removed on the 30th of November, we thought we would put our house up as a back up, so that if their did not sell, we were not leaving it all on their shoulders to make this happen.

Last year when we put our house on the market, it was up for 3 months and we did not have 1 showing. So our expectation was much of the same. There is another house on our street that has been for sale for over a month now, and they had told us that the showings we few and far between. This was certainly not the case for us.

Tuesday evening after our offer came in, within minutes a simultaneous offer came in to our friends home. We chose to accept our friends offer but needed to hash out the details on both sides to make things work - this would take a few days.

Wednesday & Thursday we both had additional showings on our homes. The Realtor suggested that until everything was firmed up, this was a good idea. Both of us received additional offers. On ours there were two offers, one really low and one for the asking price; for our friends an offer over their asking price.

By Thursday evening details were sorted out and the papers were signed. Everything clears next week, but because we both have back up offers, we are pretty certain things are complete. We are moving!

The house will close Dec 15th, but we will remain here for 1 month until our renovations on the new place are completed.

It is almost laughable this whole situation. Both couples asked God for a very clear sign that this was the right thing to do. I am not sure how clearer He could have made it. God is good and He daily exceeds my expectations.

We are excited about this new phase of life. The new place is an older home that we will renovate and in the future, we hope to subdivide and build a new home on the property. It sits on 2 acres and in about 7 minutes east of the Church. So for us, it is a great location.

I have registered Paige for her new school, she will start after Christmas. Right now she is in the afternoon class, which will be very trying on our schedule. I am praying that someone moves from the morning class and a space will come available for her. Never under estimate the power of prayer. Your prayers are appreciated for this as well.

That's it for now. I am going to finish up the rest of the scaled down Christmas decor and enjoy the weekend with the kids. Happy Friday!!!

Witt News...

I mentioned a few weeks ago that there are lots of new things brewing. Well, last night a real estate sign went up on the lawn. Just before I went to Nashville two weeks back, we put in an offer on a place in the country (grin). While I was away, it was accepted with a subject to the sale of our home.

We currently have an offer on our place with a subject to sale, however because we need to remove the subject from the place we have the offer on by November 30th, we felt it would be a good idea to list our place as well in case we got a firm offer from someone.

So after 6 hours of cleaning top to bottom yesterday; closets, drawers, de-cluttering rooms etc. It appears we will be showing our hours some time this weekend.

Please pray that the sale of our house would go through quickly. That either the offer we have on the house now would become firm or a firm offer would come from another buyer. I am not overly excited about having to keep my house it pristine condition ALL the time, so the quicker the better!

We are open to what God wants to do; in that way, we have asked Him to open and close door where appropriate. The timing seems a bit odd, with surgery pending and Christmas Production and the Christmas Season right around the corner. We do however have a real peace and dare I say, an excitement as well, about this whole thing. There are sacrifices that will be made by all of us, but we think this is a good decision for our family.

So for now, as hard as it will be for me, the Christmas Decor will stay stowed away until decisions are made. Maybe this year will be a 1 tree year - YIKES who could fathom that!!!

Tricks, Treats 'n' Fun!

Oh the fun of having kids!!! We have a traditional open invitation to "meet on the Witt's lawn" for trick-or-treating. I believe this is the 4th year in a row that we have canvased the neighborhood in search of the sugar high that will last for the next month or so!

Last night was no different. We congregated on the lawn for the annual group picture, this year we added another one to the group. Once we grouped ourselves together, we crossed the street and invaded the porches around the neighborhood. We were out for about 45 minutes and the kids seemed to be satisfied with their loot, so we headed back to our place to have cupcakes ('cause the candy wasn't enough sugar you know...) and play together.

This was the first year that Karter really took the whole thing in. Although we could not get him to the door to retrieve his candy, he loved being part of the whole group going up to the houses. It was really fun to watch him this year.

Thanks to all who joined us, it would not have been the same without you. Paige told me this morning that it was "the funnest night ever". I am happy if the kids are happy!

Pumpkin Patch!

I took the morning off work so that I could go on Paige's field trip to the pumpkin patch, with Paige. Karter stayed with my mom, so it was a morning for the girls.

Here are a few pictures of the day. What fun we had!!!!

Digiscrap::: PNE & First Days

I had a bit of time while flying to and from Nashville and waiting for my connecting flights; so I decided to take advantage of it and catch up on some scrapping. Here are the pages of our trip to the PNE back in August and both of the kids first days of school in September. Hope you enjoy!

Grandma Eckert's 95th Birthday

On Thanksgiving weekend, Paige and I flew to Edmonton to attend my Grandma's 95th birthday party. We had a great time visiting with cousins and cousins kids, aunts, uncle's and of course my Grandma.

On the Saturday, we took Paige to Galaxyland with cousins Hannah, Bella, Kaitlyn and Levi. What fun they had.
